Resurrection Weekend is almost here. Resurrection
Weekend (Easter Weekend) is an important time of year for us as
believers, we celebrate the resurrection of Jesus and the fact that He
is the Living God.
Without
His resurrection, there would be no overcoming of sin and death for us. Resurrection Weekend is also
important in another way, it is the weekend that people (believers and
unbelievers) are most open and responsive to coming to church. As believers, we need make the most of these
opportune times and
focus on reaching people for Jesus Christ, after all, He didn’t just
rise from the dead for you and I, but for all mankind.
Word of Life has a number of events you can be a part of
this year and use to invite your friends and family.
On Saturday April 11th, Word of Life is hosting an Easter Egg Hunt
10:30am at Chief Joseph Middle School (4255 Kimberwicke). It’s Kids ages 1-11 will search for 1000’s of eggs, with a
special appearance by the Easter Bunny! You

Then, on Easter Sunday,

drama presentation about the resurrection. With
multimedia and live drama performances, God will powerfully use this drama like He
has in the past to
change hearts for Him. Make
sure to be a part and
bring someone with you, allowing God to minister to them. We
made it very easy to invite people again this year, |

Jen Joyce Welcomed
with Open Arms Three and half years ago I was working in a job that was making me very unhappy. On a whim, my mom gave me an ad for a job at MSU in the VP for Research office. My first reaction was why would I apply for a job in Bozeman. Then, I remembered that over the past two years God had been giving me clues to show me I should move to Bozeman. Through the whole process of applying for the job and moving to Bozeman I had that familiar feeling when God is moving me to a certain path. While living here, God has been doing much to stretch and grow me into what he would have for my life. Not everything has been easy, but the end results have been wonderful. One growing thing was finding a church
here in
Bozeman. In Butte, my church is a part of my family; they care
for me
like a daughter and a sister. I knew I needed to find a church
here in
Bozeman. After not having any luck, I was starting to feel like a
small
fish swimming lost in a big pond. Following a couple of failed
church visits,
I
decided to drive to Butte as much as I could (gas was much
cheaper). On
the way over the divide one weekend, I listened to a sermon on the
radio and it
was about the Da Vinci Code. I was so interested in what the
speaker was
saying that I pulled over at the Junction in Three Forks so I didn’t
lose
the
signal. I decided since I liked the sermon so much that I
would
find out where
the
church was and go to a service. The message I heard
was
from Pastor Dennis at Word of
Life. My one ‘test’ was that if no one said hello to me when I arrived, then I was going to leave and not come back. Right away, several people said hello to me and made me feel welcome. Now, three years later I am building relationships with people who I believe genuinely care about me and how I’m doing. |
Butte always has that special place in my heart, because it is my hometown and where my family lives. In His loving kindness, God has given me a place in Bozeman to worship and glorify God with people who lift me up whenever I see their smiling faces. There are times in these days when I look back at my life and see the places where God has done great things for me. Some of them didn’t seem right at first, but then later the reason why became so very clear. My one goal is to keep my eyes focused on God and let him lead me on the road to JOY! God Bless!
